  The Birmingham Temple Open House and Dedication was the first of my many experiences. My Mother was able to sing in the Choir when the temple was dedicated. I remember seeing President Hinckley go up to the Cornerstone to put cement and mortar around it. There was such a sweet spirit there as the Saints gathered to praise God for the temple that we now had so close to us. Growing up in Alabama there is a lot of confusion and different ideas about the Mormon faith. This is our first temple and I am so happy that I got to be a part of the beginning of a marvelous work in Alabama.

  This is a beautiful building with magnificently kept gardens. There is a peaceful feeling as you walk these grounds.

  Beautiful temple. I was married here. Everyone is so helpful and loving. The spirit is extremely strong. So many beautiful experiences and memories here.

  I love to be in the temple. The spirit is so strong and wonderful. You get as close as you can in this life to eternity.
